The Fondazione De Fornaris has, through a donation, acquired a collection of 53 drawings by Enrico Gamba (1831–1883), created between 1844 and 1883, mostly in charcoal and pencil. A selection of these works can be viewed in the database on this website.
Among the artist’s most celebrated works is the large painting “The Funeral of Titian”, acquired in 1856 by Vittorio Emanuele II and now preserved at the GAM Torino. This work earned him a professorship in drawing at the Accademia Albertina and contributed to his recognition as a Romantic painter.
