CASSINARI Bruno

Gropparello (PC), 1912 - Milan, 1992 After studying art in Piacenza he moved to Milan in 1934. He became part of the 'Corrente' group and put on his first personal exhibition at the 'Corrente' workshop in 1941, presented by Elio Vittorini. After the war he became increasingly interested in Picasso and French painting. Matisse, Modigliani, Soutine, Manessier and Bazaine are all probable influences on his work, which while it highlights an abstract chromatic and structural construction, never entirely abandons representational art.
