ACCARDI Carla

Trapani, 1924 - Rome, 2014 After the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo, she dedicates herself to abstract art and founds the Forma Group in 1947 with, among others, Antonio Sanfilippo, whom she'll marry. Her research extends from concretist painting to the poetics of the sign. The critic Michel Tapié places her among the protagonists of art autre. She is invited several times to the Venice Biennale and takes part in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. In 2024 the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome celebrates the centenary of her birth with an anthological exhibition.
