GONIN Francesco

Painter, illustrator and fresco painter. Trained at the Accademia Albertina, he took up lithography printing, and became famous for his illustrations for the 1840 edition of The Betrothed. He completed his studies in Milan and Paris, adopting an academic romantic style in his paintings and frescoes commissioned by Carlo Alberto for the Royal Palace. A versatile artist, he was a theatrical set designer, landscape painter and genre painter.
