TURCATO Giulio

Mantova, 1912 - Rome, 1995 After artistic studies in Venice he moved to Rome (1943). In 1946 he was one of the writers of the manifesto Forma 1, then became part of the movement Fronte Nuovo delle Arti and in 1952 L. Venturi includes him in the Eight group, engaged in overcoming the dichotomy between realism and the abstract. Towards the end of the decade, his representational art, initially depicted against schematic linear grids, began to evolve towards Art Informel, with the use of a variety of materials, collage and experiments with colour.
