VALERI Ugo

Piove di Sacco (Padova), 1873 – Venice, 1911

Painter, graphic designer. Brother of the poet Diego. He attended the Accademia in Venice and Bologna intermittently. Talented illustrator for Italian magazines at the beginning of the century, inspired by Toulouse-Lautrec and Modernism, he was highly regarded by Marinetti. In 1909 his exhibition at Ca' Pesaro was a great success. In 1962 the Bevilacqua La Masa Gallery in Venice dedicated an ample retrospective to him.
