TARANTINO Giuseppe

Palermo, 1916 – Rivalba (Turin), 1999

After completing his studies in Palermo, he moved to Milan where he attended the “Corrente” group and made his debut in 1939 with a solo exhibition of graphics. In 1942 he moved to Turin, where he met Casorati, Spazzapan, Menzio and Paulucci. He dedicates himself to sculpture, starting from the plastic theme of the nude to arrive at the "figure" caught in the immediacy of the act or involved in choral actions. After a turn in the abstract direction (1958-1961), he confirmed his interest in human forms, leading to results of remarkable structural and narrative synthesis.
