CRAGG Tony

Liverpool (Great Britain), 1949

After studying sculpture at the Royal College of Art in London, the English artist moved to Wuppertal, Germany in 1977. He exhibits in solo and group exhibitions all over the world and receives numerous awards, including the Turner Prize in 1988, the first prize for sculpture at the 2005 Beijing Biennale and, in 2007, the Praemium Imperiale for sculpture. On the initiative of the De Fornaris Foundation, for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics, he created the sculpture "Points of view", today one of the symbols of the city, which reflects his research towards a new elaboration of bronze, while the relationship with the void is intended as a fundamental part of the work itself.
