Starting in 1982, the Fondazione De Fornaris acquired a considerable body of work – paintings, sculptures, installations and graphics – but it lacks a museum of its own. The entire collection is on loan to GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Torino, where the works can only be displayed on a rotating basis and for limited periods. Consequently, to enable art lovers from all over the world to become acquainted with the most significant works of the collection, a new and innovative Virtual Museum has been designed, allowing visitors to explore its various rooms and experience masterpieces as if in a “real” museum. Visitors to “Il Museo che non c’è”, which was designed following the layout of the rooms of the GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Torino, can view paintings in high definition. Sculptures can instead be explored from 360 degrees.
