In Turin from 1907, he worked as a cabinet-maker and wood-engraver. A friend of Soffici's, he worked on 'La Voce' and 'Lacerba' and Maccari's 'Selvaggio'. After initially exhibiting his engravings, he began painting alongside Casorati in 1922, exhibiting in Turin and Milan, then from 1924 to 1958 at the Venetian Biennales. Part of the Six Painters of Turin between 1929 and 1930.
