MASTROIANNI Umberto

Fontana Liri (FR), 1910 - Rome, 1998 In Turin from 1926, where he studied with M. Guerrisi, he took part in Turin exhibitions in 1931 with works suspended between realism, archaism and a personal reworking of Futurist sculpture. He took part in the Rome Quadriennales from 1935 and the Venice Biennales (from 1936), winning the First Prize for Sculpture in 1958, with works tending more towards the abstract style with Art Informel influences. From the post-war period up to recent years he received a number of important public commissions.
