FD206

Landscape on a Black Background, 1971

Biography

After his technical studies, he made his debut in 1960 in the international climate that had formed in Rome, interacting with American art, along with Angeli, Novelli, Twombly, Rotella, Perilli, Kounellis and Fioroni. After creating object-based works, in the late 1960s he started quoting from paintings through photography, and particularly Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel. From 1978 he became more secluded, painting stylised fluidly two-dimensional figurative works.
