A painter and engraver, he graduated in Literature and became Professor of Engraving at the Accademia Albertina in Turin. His visionary art draws on Baroque and nineteenth-century American literature. In his "Sibyllae" series (1989) he combines gestural vorticism with ancestral forms. In the 1990s he exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Florence, New York, Edinburgh and Turin. In 2000 he won the Premio Sulmona for engraving.
