SALVO (Salvatore Mangione)

Leonforte (Enna), 1947 - Turin, 2015 One of the exponents of the Arte Povera movement, he enjoys using literary materials, well-known maxims and sayings, which often feature on marble tombstones. He worked with Ontani in the Bentivoglio studio in Bologna for a long period. Since the 1980's his chosen genre has been the landscape, viewed as a reference to familiar and imaginary situations, subsequently followed by the inclusion of books. He has taken part in numerous Venice Biennales and exhibitions in museums and galleries.
