ONETTI Luigi

Lu Monferrato (AL), 1876 – Turin, 1968

After studying at the Accademia Albertina, he debuted at the Promotrice in Turin in 1892. Influenced by the Pointillist and Symbolist movements, he turned to humanitarian and social themes (a cycle of frescoes for the Labour Office in Turin, now lost), with landscapes and portraits. In 1909 he taught figure drawing at the Accademia Albertina. He took part in the main national exhibitions throughout the 1920's, but still awaits detailed critical treatment.
