MELANO Ernest

Pinerolo (TO), 1792 – Turin, 1867

Architect to Carlo Felice and Carlo Alberto, as well as member of the Civil Engineers corps, he trained at the Turin school of Bonsignore and Talucchi. Despite the neo-Gothic vein of some of his most important works (Hautecombe, Pollenzo), he remained faithful to the neo-Classical training of his youth, without indulging in the decorative style or eclecticism which were widespread at the time.
