GAMBA Francesco

Turin, 1818-1887

Painter, he trained at Accademia Albertina. Since 1842, he partecipated several times with landscapes in exhibitions at Società Promotrice delle Belle Arti of Turin.
At 1846 Promotrice’s exhibition, he offered through his paintings an anthology of study trips undertaken between Rome, Naples and Venice and continued abroad, where he came in contact with the schools of Fontainebleau and Dusseldorf.
In 1869 he was appointed director of Pinacoteca Reale of Turin.
