Painter. He became established in Milan during the Restoration as a landscape painter of the Marco Gozzi school. He sojourned in Rome in 1829, where he painted the countryside of the Lazio region. Teacher of landscape painting in Brera from 1838 to 1856, close to Hayez and D'Azeglio, he also turned to 'historic landscapes', with two battle scenes for Carlo Alberto (Battaglia di Guastalla [The Battle of Guastalla] and Battaglia di Verona [The Battle of Verona]). He exhibited in Turin from 1838.
